At-will, swift, ranged, concentration; you create a construct of shadow that fits within a medium-sized space. It can appear as any object or creature, and moves as you direct. It is made of shadows, and has no substance, although it can make sound as you direct. If you lose concentration, it dissipates harmlessly. The maximum size incerases to large at rank 2, huge at rank 3, etc.
Beyond rank 1, you can enhance the illusion thus:
- Rank 2: it is partially real. It can inflict damage, but it can also take damage, at 50% the effective damage and HP of a mimicked creature (max CR = your level - 4).
- Rank 3: it becomes fully real. It can inflict and take damage normally, and has the full statistics of a mimicked creature (same CR limit).
At rank 2, you can make illusions look somewhat real, with surface textures and colors mimicking reality, but notably washed out and glum-looking. At rank 4, the illusions are indistinguishable from reality, with full textures, colors, and details, with the exception that they cannot generate light of their own brighter than a torch (and even torchlight looks dull and washed out).
