The duplicate is now a fully independent, living being, with its own soul and free will, albeit as friendly to you as a loyal friend. Over time, the duplicate may develop differently, as you do not have direct control of it. However, if you ever die, you can choose to transfer your soul into the duplicate, effectively resurrecting yourself in its body. If you do so, the duplicate's soul is destroyed, and it becomes you in every way, merging the memories of both you and the eidolon. You can elect to do this at any time without dying, as a standard action. Either way, your soul transfers, but your physical possessions and body are unaffected.
